Ed Gillentine
Principal
Ed is the principal of Gillentine Group. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy® as well as a Chartered Financial Consultant®. He received his undergraduate degree from Crichton College in Memphis, TN and his MBA from Union University in Germantown, TN.
Since 2003, Ed has focused on research, planning and wealth management for families in the highest tax brackets. In 2008, Gillentine Group was formed to focus on impact planning, impact and philanthropic strategies and values-aligned wealth management for families that wanted to have a more significant impact on the world in which they live. He and his colleagues now serve high net worth and high-income clients and their families all across the United States.
Ed is actively involved in several strategic philanthropic and impact initiatives around the globe. He recently authored ‘Journey to Impact: A Practical Guide to Purpose-Driven Investing’, an Amazon Top-50 in the Philanthropy & Charity genre. He is married to Elizabeth and has been blessed with two beautiful daughters and a son. He loves spending time with his family, working out, playing golf, and traveling. He also enjoys reading about World War II era history and the Bible.
Stephen Chandler
Director of Investment Research
Stephen joined the Gillentine Group team in January of 2018. He is a CFA charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He serves on the investment committee as well as the financial planning and asset management team. He is also involved with servicing and administrative functions for clients.
Stephen graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock with a degree in Finance, where he was a member of the baseball team for 4 years. In 2015, he completed an internship in the Himalayan villages of Nepal where he worked to help the indigenous villagers create key sustainable organizational and societal impact. Stephen’s experience with impact strategies allows him to bring a unique perspective to his work at Gillentine Group.
When not at the office, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife Shara, playing golf, playing the guitar, and watching the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Astros. He and his wife are active members at Harvest Church.
Liz Gillentine
Administrative Assistant
Liz has been a part of the Gillentine Group team since 2008. She is responsible for many of the administrative functions that keep our team running smoothly.
Liz is married to Ed and has two beautiful daughters and a fun-loving son. She is an accomplished abstract artist and enjoys painting whenever she can. She loves the community of Memphis and volunteering with local non-profits. She was a founding board member of The Forsaken Children and continues to support efforts to help the at-risk children of Ethiopia.
